Early Pregnancy Symptoms: What’s Normal and What’s Not

Pregnancy can feel like a whirlwind of symptoms—especially when it's your first time. Some signs can be exciting (like that cute little baby bump that’s on its way!) while others are unexpected or even alarming. So, what’s normal?

Common and completely normal (but surprising!) symptoms include:

  • Mild cramping- think period cramping or a little less intense

  • Tender, swollen breasts

  • Mood swings

  • Fatigue that hits like a truck

  • Cravings (or just as common- see nausea)

  • Nausea (not just in the morning!)

When to call your provider:

  • Severe cramping or pain

  • Heavy bleeding

  • High fever

Remember, every body is different. Trust your instincts and never hesitate to reach out to your provider.
